What to Expect on the Texas Insurance Exam
All-in-One (L&H + P&C): Taking Both Lines Exams
There's no single combined exam. Getting both licenses means passing two separate exams: the General Lines Life, Accident and Health exam and the General Lines Property and Casualty exam. Each has its own score, 150 minutes, and fee.

Exam Day, Step by Step
STEP 1
Book at least a day ahead
Schedule online with Pearson VUE at least 24 hours before your exam, and pay when you book. Walk-ins aren't allowed.
STEP 2
Bring two IDs
One government photo ID with your signature, like a driver's license or passport, plus a second ID with your signature, like a debit card. Both must be current and match the name you booked with exactly.
STEP 3
Get there 30 minutes early
Your phone, watch, bag and notes go in a locker. You'll get scratch materials and a short tutorial that doesn't count against your time.
STEP 4
Leave with your score
You'll walk out with your official score report in hand. If you don't pass, you can book a retake as soon as the next day, with no limit on attempts.
After you pass: get fingerprinted through IdentoGO, then apply to TDI through Sircon or NIPR within one year of passing, or you'll need to retake the exam.
